Located on scenic Old Hickory Lake just 30 minutes outside of Nashville, Historic Rock Castle offers much to explore! This historic home of Tennessee frontiersman Daniel Smith is 230-years-old and sits on 18 of its original 3,000 acres. Owned by the family until 1969, Rock Castle is now a state-owned historic site that is open to the public.

 

Join us for a tour of the Smith family home, experience the aromas of the herb garden, wander through the wooded nature trail, browse Sarah's Gift Shop, or take a lakeside stroll! Visitors can also enjoy a variety of public programs throughout the year including songwriters nights, holiday festivities, and our signature annual event Daniel Smith Days!
